The art of Home Staging
began on the West Coast in the 1970’s, spread to the East Coast in the
1990’s and is now finding it’s way to the Midwest. People often ask how
I became a “Home Stager” since the whole concept is new to the Midwest
Region. Well, to make a long story short, I was “Home Staging” before I
even knew it was a profession.
Over the past 10 years, while my husband was climbing the corporate
ladder, we have bought and sold six homes. After purchasing a house, I
would spend months cleaning, planning, painting, decorating, and
contracting professionals to add character to the inside and outside of
our homes. Once all of the work was complete and we had unpacked our
last boxes, a promotion opportunity would allow us to experience the
process all over again. Every home we put on the market would sell
quickly and for close to or more than our asking price. Through this
experience, I learned what people look for when they are searching for a
home - curb appeal, model feel, quality, character, cleanliness and most
importantly, themselves living there.
With the encouragement of my family and
friends, the popularity of television shows about redesign/home staging
as well as the experience gained through successful preparation of our
own homes for sale, I knew that Home Staging and Interior Redesign would
be my perfect profession. While living in the Twin Cities, I researched
and signed up for the Interior Redesign Industry Specialists (I.R.I.S.)
certification program. In April 2005, we moved to Omaha, Nebraska and in
July 2005 I completed my certification and launched STAGED &
Rearranged—A Professional Home Staging and Interior Redesign Service.
We currently specialize in private
residence redesign, color consultations and the staging of upper end
homes for homeowners and top realtors in the Omaha area. We are very
proud of our growing portfolio and letters of recommendation.
